This regal great blue heron was standing on 1 leg at Ridgway Park in Hampton.

Brothers and sisters would be much softer. Hey, be careful there.

Preening Pair. Mating started on Valentines day. Naps are short now. The female searches for food all day long. She has the task to produce 10 high protein extra large eggs in 17 days.

This is the same buck as the previous photo looking at another buck in the field.

Both parents vigorously making food available for their chicks.

Looking at the unreachable food (through the ice) again.

All 9 are on board.

This little piglet was seen on 2/19/2006 just to the west of the False Cape visitor center along the road heading toward the bay.

Though I was there for 6 hours, I couldn't find the adults or the family on this day. I only found these 2 juveniles nervously hanging around near the nest.

I use a Canon 20D camera with the following equipment: EF 20mm f/2.8 USM wide angle lens, EF 50mm f/1.4 USM lens, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM Telephoto zoom Lens, EF 180mm f/3.5L Macro Lens, EF 400mm f/5.6L USM Super Telephoto Lens, EF 1.4x II Lens Extender, and a Canon Speedlite 580EX II Flash.

I use Adobe Photoshop Creative Suite 3 to process my pictures.

I have always been interested or fascinated by wild life photography.

My bio photo was taken in Homer, AK.
